After posting up three entries earlier this week, I have concluded that it is hard to maintain a blog. Especially when you're as lazy as me; shouldn't have gotten Netflix. After this installment, I have my final review and I think at this point you already know what I'm going to give this place. But before I do, I want to dedicate this post to the property itself. It was nice exploring MOLV and see what it's all about. I wasn't able to utilize all the space I encountered but I was able to enjoy the gym and part of the spa area (sorry, no photos).
MOLV is set up a little different from the rest of the hotels; the lobby is actually on the 23rd floor and you have to take two sets of elevators to get to your room. As you come in you're in this ghost lobby; I call it the ghost lobby because it's the space before the actual lobby.

The first floor |
Then you take the first set of elevators which only have three floors indicated inside (The Lobby [the 23rd floor], the cafe [3rd floor], and the entrance [1st floor]). Who in their right mind would make such an intricate set-up? I didn't understand until the second set of elevators.
We got to the 23rd floor and you're hit by this wall of . . . I have no way of explaing, this:
I called it chocolate because after awhile of staring at it, it looked like gold bars like Willy Wonka. The lobby was quiet and minimal commotion. It was an eerie feeling at first because it's Vegas but the feeling past as quickly as my mind told me "You're on vacation, it's time to relax."

The Tea Lounge |
As we waited for our room, we decided to explore and our first stop was
the pool, and the pool was amazing. Too bad somebody forgot his swim
trunks *ahem**Anthony*cough*. It was quiet and there wasn't a lot of
people. There were towels ready to go on the lounge chairs and cold and
complimentary water for the guests. We were greeted by two of the staff
and were asking how they could help us (this practically happened
everywhere we went in the hotel). The pool wasn't a grand pool and I
think it's really a pool to dip into and that's it. They had cabanas for
rental but the lounge chairs alone and the constant care by the staff
was already luxurious enough.

On the same floor as the pool, there was a gym, and the spa are (all on the 8th floor). We then went to the gym and I was blown away (again). I was blown away about several times but it happens when you experience something new. The gym was high tech and they provided free yoga classes.
You have your cardio and strength. When I went to use the gym I used both and what I found a little difficult is space. It was more of a space for me to do my stretches and crunches while trying not to be a fire hazard. Their treadmills were awesome. They gave you several options to choose from; there were games, using the internet, shopping online, etc.

I would have played games but I have no eye hand coordination =/ |

I had a great time running and it was convenient to have exercise balls and yoga mats for us to use. They had a locker room as well and in the locker room is a steam room (one for each sex) and a shower. The lockers were pretty great.

After we were done exploring those parts we went back to the lobby to lounge.

I couldn't sit still after a few minutes and went to explore the lobby a little bit more and one of the employees (Roma) told us about Twist which was down the hall. Thought to check it out. The decor was romantic (in my view) and I really appreciated the appearance of the entrance of Twist (their fine restaurant).

As stated in a previous entry (
Checking In ), we were given our key to the room after being agitated and one of the employees showed us how to work the second set of elevators. The second set of elevators was for us to get to the room. We have to use our room card to activate the elevator so we can press the button on the floor we want. I've read in Trip Advisor some complaints about the duel elevators but really no one should be complaining when it's actually a great defense in unwanted guests/people. MOLV is about making this personal and private for the matter of the guests. It's also a great security feature. Then I found out the employees take a separate set of elevators, no more full elevators due to the baggage trolly.
The property of Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas was amazing. It is everything you would want in an intimate hotel. Everything is small scaled and I appreciated every small detail they did.

A bench in every elevator |
The property is also smacked near the middle of the strip. A 5 minute walk away to New York, New York, and Paris. Then a train ride away from the Bellagio which is next to Ceasar's Palace. Cannot complain, nope! Cannot complain at all.
