Another craving I was having other than onion rings was pizza and again since the Cosmo was conveniently a hop, skip, and a jump away. We went to Secret Pizza on a whim and I was not planning it at all but since we left EVO because I wasn't feeling so hot we went to grab a quick dinner. We went to Pink's Hot Dogs as well ( I girl has to try as much places to eat when given the opportunity).
We went to Pink's first since it was the first place on the way back to the hotel. Anthony ordered a chili dog and I ordered chili cheese fries. The girl greeted, it feels nice to be acknowledged. The total came to around $8. I wanted me cheese on the side and they were able to do that for me. Pink's is right on the strip which is also connected to Planet Hollywood. When we walked inside it was cramped and if the place was to get bust a line would have be forming out the door since the counter is a yard away from the door. I guess it's a good marketing strategy.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was their freezer (located right behind the counter) and their thick bear-battered onion rings were exposed. They weren't that busy and I don't know if an open freezer can be a health violation. We didn't wait long for our order and then off we went to Secret Pizza.
Secret Pizza is located on the 3rd floor and it's not too hard to find. It's located adjacent to a restaurant and to get to the place you have to walk down a hallway. When we got there I was surprised how small the place was. There was a counter for about 10-15 to sit down and eat. When I went to order my pizza they didn't have all their pizzas out because there were some hidden under the counter. I asked the person at the counter if they were going to have a white pizza coming out of the oven and he replied there's a fresh one under the counter. I ordered the slice and I didn't know his definition of fresh. It looked like it has been sitting out for a little bit. For the single slice it was $5, I was thinking "I hope it's worth my 5 bucks or I'll be disappointed."
Got to back to the room and started with the chili cheese fries.
Making my own "homemade" chili, I really started comparing chili a little more closely. Pink's chili cheese fries were not as great. The fries were not even fresh and as for the chili, I had to keep trying it hoping I was going to like it but I didn't even finish it; I ate half and discarded the rest. I know this review for Pink's is not on the hot dogs since they specialize in hot dogs but I did ask Anthony about his hot dog. He said it was pretty good. Pretty good is average to me and he said he had better. I think next time when I order fries from Pink's maybe I can ask for a fresh batch.
Then it was pizza time!!
Even though it wasn't fresh out of the oven, it was awesome. A little bit greasy but I guess that's what a good pizza is about. The cheese was great and I like the little herbs they sprinkled. The crust was wonderful. I really wished I ordered two pizzas instead of going to Pink's. As for the price it's meh. I would think they can reduce the price by at least 50 cents and the most a dollar. I feel if I had it fresh it could be worth $5.
Still for both places I would go back to give them a second try. Pink's for a hot dog and Secret Pizza to get a slice in a more rush hour time.
