The Buffet @ the Bellagio: Review

Who doesn't love to gorge at a buffet? A good buffet? An excellent buffet?

I love buffets when my stomach can handle it and there were several buffets I would have love to go to but since we were side tracked we have to switch the schedule around. Unfortunately, we were not able to enjoy every single one I was planning to experience. It's okay and no worries about that because there is always next year.

One buffet that seems to make it's mark is The Buffet at the Bellagio. Bellagio is grandiose in itself but The Buffet is something on its own.  We went for dinner so of course prices are pretty high. I'll tell you off the bat we paid $84 for two. We didn't wait long for a seat and from walking around I could see why it was expensive; they had crab legs. I looked around and they had their meat carving station and their salads and what not. I was really more excited about the desserts than anything but since I did not eat since 830 that morning, I know I shouldn't sell my stomach short.

Round 1!!!!

ROUND 1: I took major advantage of the crab legs and I did get butter. . . yes I'm a fatty. . . no I am not a shamed one bit.  Then I got some salad, a bread roll, a couple of sushi pieces, lasagna roll, and a prime rib piece. The prime rib was really good and the pasta was good (not something to praise about). The sushi I got was a chef's special sushi and it tasted like the fish was sitting out for too long. The crab however was really good but I smothered it in butter and I smothered it in butter because the butter was warm and the crab was not. I also had the shrimp cocktail and I could have eaten that all night.
Clam chowder

Round 2!!

ROUND 2: Yes, so after round one I was near to full capacity and I wanted to save room for dessert. I ended up getting clam chowder, Kobe beef, and a roll. I don't know how really good Kobe beef taste but if it taste like what I tried, I figured out then and there I don't like Kobe beef. It didn't taste awesome. I was expecting melt in your mouth. . . but no it was dry and it tasted weird. I didn't like the clam chowder too. It was taste and I figured I don't know good quality or it wasn't the greatest quality, which I didn't have high expectations for since it is a buffet regardless of tier.  The roll was the most satisfying to eat that round.

ROUND 3: DESSERTS!! ^O^

ROUND 3: For dessert I got two cheesecakes, an eclair, a strawberry tart, mango and coconut panna cotta, a chocolate dipped strawberry, and chocolate mouse. Bellagio does not fuck up their desserts. Everything was perfect but by the time I sank my teeth into the eclair, I called it quits. . . for the eclair. I went back for more cheesecake. All the desserts I tried that night were light (except the eclair). I wish Bellagio had a dessert only buffet every now and then. They would definitely draw in a crowd.

For the price of the food I would have spend my night eating shrimp cocktail, crab legs, and cheesecake. Since it was dinner, it's worth it's price due to the seafood and the plentiful variety of food. As for the food itself, not great quality on some (I recommend any buffet with sushi, skip it).

The service was great; our waitress (I forgot her name) was awesome. She even tried to get me creme brulee (unfortunately the chef in charge of that left that afternoon, sad face). She was on top of our drinks and everything. It was a great dinner to start the food festivities for the weekend.

I recommend though (to experience the great food without shoving out a handful of cash) is to come during breakfast/lunch. Dinner was a miss on this one for me. Still this is one of THE buffets to visit when you're visiting the strip.
