White Rabbit Fusion Cafe [CLOSED]: Review

This is a really late review and I do apologize but sometimes life and work really take up a lot of one's time.

I know in the title it says closed and why would I be reviewing a placed that is closed? Well I still want to let you know my experience and plus there is another location, which I will tell you more about later.

I've been to this White Rabbit locations about four times before it closed and I only went so rarely because I never had cash (it was CASH ONLY) and it was pretty pricey. It's pricey because probably because of the cost of the ingredients but other than that you pay $7-$8 for a seven inch burrito. That is for the burrito alone and to add the boba and a side it came out to $12 for one person. Oh and I have something lovely to add. . . holding the thought.

When we went it was prime time and when we walked in, it was a foreshadowing of what has happened. No one was there except the employees. The employees acknowledged us but I since the establishment was changing ownership I understand why they weren't joyful to see us.
An empty restaurant *sigh*

We ordered our food and wanted to get a combo, a combo is $9, but I wanted to sub the drink with a boba drink. I asked the girl at the register if I could sub my drink for a boba and she said yes, but ended up charging me the combo PLUS a boba drink (an additional $3.75). Who's fault is it, both of ours I guess. Still I was pretty bitter and I should have asked for my regular drink anyways since it was already included. This was the lovely thing I wanted to add.
All of this was around $26
We sat down and they gave us our food and I was really excited to try it out. It was all good until it dawned on me that it wasn't as good as the other times I have tried it.

The burrito I had was not as tasty I had before and it was soaking in juices. Juices in this case was a little bad because the tortilla got soggy and it wasn't fun at the end of my burrito. Food should be messy but I wasn't feeling it (personal preference at that time) There wasn't much of the garlic rice which I LOVE.  In the end it satisfied our hunger without making us feel full. As for Anthony's burrito and lumpia, he was satisfied because he was starving. Even though he was starving he pointed out his burrito was saltier than he expected (he got a Beefsteak burrito) and wished he could have gotten what he usually got. . . as he continued to chow down on his burrito. =P

I have to give it to them though, they didn't gypped me out of my boba. This place is one of the best places to get boba in the area and there's only about 3-4 places, so it makes me tear up thinking of who's left I can turn to when I have a boba craving.

Going back to the beginning, I'm still doing this review because this place is pretty delicious. . . you just have to go to the right location. A little background, White Rabbit started out as a food truck and because of its success it open up a restuarant. The Oxnard establishment was them trying to expand and I'm sorry it wasn't successful down here as they have hoped. I say aim for Rowland Heights, I'm talking to you White Rabbit!!

They still have their truck go around the Los Angeles area and they have a restaurant in Canoga Park. I've been to the one in Canoga Park and if you're someone who went to Oxnard and felt disappointed, go to Canoga Park. You would think that no matter where you go you would have the same experience but no. And rule of thumb don't ever think because it's a chain (excluding major fast food) it will be/taste the same; it's not so get over it.

White Rabbit Fusion Cafe of Oxnard it was great to experience at the beginning but sadly I have mixed emotions in the end of you closing. Hoping White Rabbit Fusion Cafe can open in an area much more appreciative of your unique cuisine. Good luck
