Another Monday, another day, and another week to come along. What can make this Monday better? Well, for starters no work. Check! And if possible french toast so good you need a cigarette after your finished with it. If you didn't understand the sentence before this one either you are too young to understand or you have a clean mind.

Before we headed out to Santa Cruz we were planning to hit up Oakland Grill but since we are more likely to end up in Oakland one way or another I thought it would be better to hit up a city on the way and see what they have to offer. Country Way popped up automatically when I went to do some research.

My experience eating at a bunch of breakfast places I started to recognize their food has the same common taste. . . diner flavor. Diner pancakes taste the same no matter where I went, french toast on the other hand. . . more or less. I'm in a french toast phase; I want my french toast if I can get french toast. I was hoping Country way can fulfill that craving.

Be mesmerized by the size and look of my french toast. OoooOoooOOhHH yeah! |
It's a homey diner and quite popular on a Thursday morning. Anthony got pancakes and I a french toast combo with a cup of hot chocolate. It took more or less 5-10 minutes and the french toast was huge!!! Daum, everything was plentiful. We were expecting it to be a longer wait but nope; nothing wrong with it. So eager to dig into the french toast and when I did a chill went down my spine. Have you ever had something so good time stopped for a good 10 seconds? It seriously stopped my mind from thinking about everything else but that french toast. The french toast tasted like a funnel cake, french toast funnel cake. The pancakes were all right, the bacon wasn't overcooked, and the eggs were eggs. Anthony was not too fond of his pancakes, I'm glad I had a lot of french toast to share.
Our server was on top of everything, filling our cups and checking up on us. She was really busy but it was good enough for us. We had to pay at the front which wasn't a hassle, a little bit confusing because since we mentioned it was our first time no one told us what to do. Meh, no biggie. I got the best french toast ever at Country Way. Thinking of it is making my mouth water. . . indulgence. Until I can get my hand on some Country Way french toast I will be dreaming about eating it. NorCal you keep giving me reasons to move up there faster. =P
