Farm Burger

Is it me or when it's around this time of the year (I.E. spring) the weekends slip quickly as sand through your fingers? I know my weekend is never long enough, thank goodness for a 3-day weekend coming up.

This past weekend I had Quarter Pounder in Hayward and it reminded me I didn't make an entry for this place in Berkeley. A burger is a burger right? Well if I called the shots the only burger we need would be In-N-Out but that's my opinion. I decided to try this place because it's next to Phil'z Coffee, my go-to-in-the-morning coffee shop.

I didn't know what I was expecting other than it was going to get pricey, like Smash Burger. The place was homey and the cashier was really nice. The burger was expensive if you were to customize it; your best bets on ordering a special which also means you can make it into a meal. . . actually no you don't make it into a meal. You have to order your fries separately. . . say what?!? Can't make a combo? Yup!

I paid for my burger and fries, $12. I mean In-N-Out could have been half the price WITH a fountain drink! Instead of picking up the food they delivered it to you, if that was the case I can pick up my own food. The burger was small, this is was I get for grass-fed beef. Yay for grass-fed? To me there wasn't much difference in the quality of the ingredients compared to other-non-chain-except-in-n-out-fast-food places. Ingredients, well-thought. Taste, satisfactory. Environment, completely spot on with their concept. They also had a designated area for little ones to play and read books. That's a plus for parents who want to sit down and chat for a while and forgot to bring something to keep their children occupied. Wallet, a dent; however, still looking good. I can say if I am super hankering for a burger and in Berkeley I would choose this place between the other places I've been. Farm Burger, for organic you're not so shabby *coy punch to the shoulder*. ^____^
