Smoke's Poutinerie

When I went to The Packing House in Anaheim I had my first poutine and boy it was delicious. Then one day I was drinking wine and then I thought about college and how drunk I got, greasy. . . heavy. . .carb-loaded food never tasted so delicious. Of course my drinking habits changed, not my love for drunk food.

I found Smoke's one day after going to Thai Basil and the thought of poutine floated around me. My brain would not give up the image of poutine till I tried Smoke's. Finally! The day happened and there wasn't much people in there. Usually on a Friday night it's usually packed. Anywhoo, I got some poutine!! Well they have a menu and I wanted to start small. The person at the counter was super helpful in explaining the most popular items, what cheese curds were, and answering all of our questions.

It was great talking to the girl in the front and then it became awkward because I had to side step so more customers can come in, it was a pretty narrow place and there's only a counter-space eating area.

I ordered a snack size of poutine fries with bacon, which came out to I think 6 dollars more or less. For snack size you can only add one more item on top of the basic, other than that you would have to order the larger sizes which is meal size and one more larger.

I didn't wait long and it was nice to see the open kitchen; I noticed the fries are double fried. Hell yeah for double-fry fries!!! In a couple of minutes I received my fries and off I went. Thank goodness it was portable, I had to walk and eat to my next destination.

The last cheese curd in my box =(
Everything was good in the neighborhood! The gravy was hot,the cheese curds were melted, steam came out of the box, and the bacon was crispy. As I worked my way to the bottom of my box I felt robbed. Robbed I say!! The top was all fun and games and then the bottom was soggy-gravy-drenched fries. Boo!! Not enough topping love! I also noticed the gravy did not have much flavor; in the end it was the bacon that made it better. One bacon, zero traditional poutine at Smoke's. Would I try this place again?

Not really. . . but if this place was in Napa, yes, because I'll be drunk and a meal in Napa is hella expensive. Oh! That is a great idea!!

Dear Smoke's Poutinerie,
Open up a  Smoke's in Napa cause the A&W cannot be the only cheap option in town, and you'll make hella money!! Holla!!
Love, Jazzmin
