626 Night Market Part 2: The Heat

Happy HUMP DAUUUYYYYY~ !!!! Little tidbit about  myself, Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week. Since it's hella hot over here in the East Bay I thought might as well lay my laptop on me to generate more heat. With heat comes a cool down period.

Anywhoo, 626 NIGHT MARKET PART 2!!! After a great start and with the crowd growing little by little my friends and I started to take advantage of some spots. First something cold because all of us were sweating profusely even in the outfits we were in; Santa Anita was HOT.

Snow House Tea Bar

My friends decided it was the perfect time to try some fried frozen yogurt. They ordered a plain tart and it came with fruit. This fried frozen yogurt was the perfect balance of tart and sweet, with the fruits it really was a refreshing break from the salty and sweet. The texture was like snow where it flaked when you pressed your spoon and melted instantly in your mouth. It was smooth and rice, an overall  John Stamos moment where it was delious. For the price ( I think between $6-$8) it was worth it since it was a lot for 4 people to share.

Takoyaki

With the cold it was time for something hot. Takoyaki time! The group was a little skeptical about going because last time there was a huge line waiting for some squid filled balls. This time it was a different story because we were there early. The wait was 10 minutes tops from waiting in line to receiving food. For a dollar per ball it was a steal because it was hot and fresh and with the sauce poured on top. . . UMAMI!!! ^O^ !!! I tried the original and I think jalapeno, Allan can correct me if he's reading this. It was hot, fresh, and soft. . . . oooohhh yeah. Christie's and my favorite between the two was the original. Got to stick it to the classic to really enjoy the art of the takoyaki.

Something cold and something hot was another great combination to try especially since the sun was blazing going down. What I really appreciated at 626 was the workers at the food booths. With so much people visiting every day they have to churn a lot of drinks/food to accommodate the crowd. Special shout out to the takoyaki folks for being so on top of their balls! It's hard to be efficient while making a solid product and they did that, they made one of the best takoyakis I have ever had. . . so far. We'll see if anyone can match them. Hope everyone stays cool for the rest of the week and another entry will be released soon. Happy eating and good night!!! ^____^
