626 Night Market Part 5: The Departure

As the sun descended in the distance the market started to come to life. This wave of a good-eerie feeling washed over me and 626 started to transform into this whimsical place of wonder. What closely comes to mind is a Ray Bradbury (author of Fahrenheit 451). The sound of people talking, the smell of smoke wafting through the crowd, the feel of an L.A. summer night where the remaining heat starts to vanish and this warm feeling hugs you.

Amid everything going around me it felt as though time slowed down and this feeling of euphoria washed over me. I can confidently state I was happy and I realized even though this blog does not have a lot of followers this is my passion. This is what I need to continue because this blog has kept me so grounded.

To put some beans out there about a little over 3 months ago my 5 year relationship ended and even prior to that break-up there was another and another (from the same person). . . there was a pattern I did not catch onto. During those times of feeling lost I started this blog as a surrogate of my journal. It started with writing feelings and then I started eating a lot and well I might as well share my experience. Everyone, if not majority, of people I think get to a point where they're lost or they don't know their purpose in life, I'm still discovering it myself. However I know deep in my heart this is my passion, food. The 626 Night Market was my sign to continue what I am doing.

The 626 Night Market was more than what one can imagine, it capture perfectly the culture of the 626 area. There were items I never would have dreamed of nor the feeling I have felt. What made it even more memorable was the people I was with, my best friend, her brother, and some awesome people. Crestfallen emotions came up when my night had to come to a close, we were tired, our feet ached, and we were full.

The magic of the 626 Night Market rained down on everyone and poured on me. As an amateur food blogger it really made an impact on me and I would have regretted so much if I decided to be fickle last minute and not go.

As we drove through the parking lot and off to the street I closed my eyes for a minute about what I should do with my life; this was also around the time where I was conflicted on either staying in NorCal or moving back home. The decision I made was to stay in NorCal and to expose myself to the elements of reality, to see what kind of person I really am.

The 626 Night Market overall was WORTH every penny, every step, every mile, and every second of my life. Since it is only a summer event  I recommend visiting to immerse yourself into this community, this culture, this life of the 626 area. There are other experiences out there in the world but if you live in California, this place is in your backyard. Now fall is approaching I wish I had another moment with summer, the thing is another summer will come, another night market will be there and I know by then from my experiences I'll be there up front and center waiting for those gates to open again.
